A piece of craft means more when you know whose hands made it. We want to spend time with the artists, cooks and makers around Pedasí, photographing the process as well as the finished work. This part of the guide will be a collection of introductions, with visits included only where the maker welcomes them.

Cañas and the island beyond open another chapter of the coast: mangroves, water and a different pace. Our story will follow a local guide, making space for what they want visitors to understand. Seasonal wildlife information, meeting points and access arrangements will be checked before this becomes a bookable recommendation.
A walk worth taking slowly.
We’ll build a small collection of walks we have actually taken. Each will explain where to start, how long to allow, whose permission is needed and what the route asks of you. Until that reporting is done, this is a promise of the kind of guide we want to make, rather than an unverified trail list.
